What to Expect

Ussangoda Beach (18 km) — Scientists believe this site was created by a meteorite impact. It is also believed to be a landing site of King Ravana from the Ramayana. Can be explored for about 1 hour. Features red soil, golden sand, and thermal sections — a peaceful, undeveloped coastal area where scenic birds can be observed.

Walawa River Safari (1 hour 30 minutes, Free) — A boat ride on the Walawa River for 1.5 hours. Best times to visit are between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, and after 4:00 PM, when beautiful birds and crocodile species can be seen. Godawaya beach can also be viewed from here.

Ramba Viharaya (25 km) — An important ancient Buddhist archaeological site and living monastery complex in Hambantota District. Known as the royal monastery of Maha Nagakula, the 11th-century capital. Artifacts and a museum are present. A beautiful surrounding ecosystem can be seen.

Botanical Garden — Entry tickets must be paid by the visitors themselves.
